The Show, held in McCormick Place over four days, had a record-breaking attendance of 74,000 attendees from all 50 US states and 110 countries – all looking for products and services provided by the 2,142 exhibitors in 608,000 square feet of exhibits. Wow! A marathon of new tastes, tools and toys! <br /><br />Among other award-winning Celebrity Cookbook Authors was Art Smith, Oprah’s personal chef who was there autographing his latest cookbook, "Back to the Family,” There were fabulous Ice Carving Contests, International Chefs cooking up delicious food and a bevy of speakers talking about what’s new in the industry. <br /><br />It was reported in an NRA chef survey that Bite Size desserts are the number one food trend for 2007. We think they were right as it was impossible to bypass Sweet Dreams Deserts as not only were their samples yummy but the Lost and Wandering Blues and Jazz Band performed at their booth daily! Music and dessert – a hard to resist winning combination!<br /><br />Some other things we really liked: The Avocado Exhibitors (after all the hot dog and desert samples, it was nice to see some green), the massage people in the basement giving 15 to 30 minute massages (they were always busy), the shrimp/seafood people with their shrimp and whale motor cycles.<br /><br />We are already busy with quotes from leads from the show!
